CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SPREAD - VEGAN NUTELLA [VIDEO]
Have you ever dreamt of eating a chocolate spread without guilt? Well, I am here to make your dreams come true.
This delicious vegan nutella recipe requires only 5 ingredients, yes ONLY 5! No refined sugar at all and it is extremely delicious. It is gone in hours in our household...but then...it is guilt free, so that is ok :).
Servings: 10 - Prep Time: 30 mins - Cooking Time: 20 mins
Ingredients:
250 grams of raw hazelnuts
10 medjool dates
3 tbsp of cocoa powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
50 ml hazelnut milk
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180 C / 350 F. Spread the hazelnuts onto a baking sheet and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Then pick up handfuls at a time and rub firmly between your palm so the skin falls off. Place the hazelnuts in a high-speed blender or food processor.
Blend for 3-5 minutes, stopping if needed occasionally to scrape down the sides, until a thin nut butter consistency is formed.
Add the remaining ingredients and blend again for an additional 3-5 minutes until smooth and well incorporated. Store in an airtight jar in the fridge. Enjoy!
Notes:
Milk replacement: Instead of hazelnut milk, you can use any other plant-based milk or dairy milk of your choice. I like the strong flavour of hazelnut.
Sweetness: If this is not sweet enough for you, you can add more dates or any other natural sweetener such as maple syrup or agave syrup.
Storage: Store in an airtight jar in the fridge.
