HEALTHY FATS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW + Healthy Fat Sources
As you might have guessed, in this blog post, you will learn some basic things about fats.
In 1976 fats and specifically saturated fats got a really bad reputation and a lot of people since then are still hesitant to include them as part of their diet as they think they will get them...fat! However, many studies since then have actually debunked that myth. It is not the fats that get as fat but a high carb diet such as a diet that is high in bread, pasta, rice and sugar.
Consumption of fats is linked to better heart and brain function, weight loss, it a source of energy and helps absorb fat soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E and K. They also keep the body warm in addition to providing cushioning for vital organs, ensuring they are protected and you can also see improvement in mood by consuming more fats.
So which foods can you actually eat? You can eat avocados, coconut, coconut oil and all coconut products, olives, olive oil, various nuts and seeds such as almonds, walnuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds as well as their butters, salmon is also a great source of healthy fats, butter or ghee (yes you are free to eat butter...as long as it is good quality), eggs, grass-fed organic beef and dark chocolate. All of these are great ways to incorporate healthy fats in your diet and ensure that your body and mind are sharp.
I hope this was serves you.
