OAT MILK RECIPE [VIDEO]

This recipe is about how to make oat milk, a fluffy and super delicious vegan milk. Oat milk is a great alternative to dairy milk, not just for those that are lactose intolerant or are vegan but also for those that would like to experiment and trial new flavours.

Prep Time: 5 - 10 mins

Yields: 6 cupsIngredients:
  • 1 cup of oats

  • 6 cups of water

  • 2 dates

  • 1 tsp agave or maple syrup or honey

  • 1 tsp of vanilla

Directions:
  1. In a bowl leave the oats to soak in 3 cups of water for at least 30 mins. Most of the time, I leave them to soak overnight.

  2. Strain the oat milk by pouring it through a nut milk bag in a bottle or another bowl.

  3. In a blender mix the oats that are left in the nut milk bag with oats, your sweetener, the vanilla and 3 cups of water.

  4. When mixed well, add the first butch of milk produced and blend all together so that the flavour goes across all liquid.

  5. Strain the oat milk by pouring it through a nut milk bag in a bottle or another bowl.

  6. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

  7. Shake the container / bottle with the oat milk before enjoying.
